Parmenidean Magician

By Frater Palamedes

Bomos: Tessera, incense, bell, lamp

Magician: Topaz lamen; Ring; Vestment white

1. The Astral Defenses
Set the Wards of Power, beginning and concluding at the center of the temple.

2. The Higher Self
Place your left hand on the Tessera and your right hand on your Topaz Lamen, while stating your intention for the ritual.

Oration 2A: "Hastening the chariot of my heart's desire, my Goddess-guided powers have carried me to find that inner road, that glorious road known to the wise. Hast thou not burned, my soul? - yea, chariot-wheels almost to flame aglow - seeking my longed-for goal, the home of Truth? From the Gates of Night, I have come to the Sill of Day; I have passed the Brazen Door. She has grasped my hand - the Goddess, my Queen - and has bidden me still seek the truth on the inward road of Knowledge, while opinion roams the world."

Raise your arms, palms upward, in the form of a Tau, and visualize the Corona Flammae. In silence, contemplate that which the Corona symbolizes: the Self, that particular nucleus or bud in the Divine Mind, from which your psyche has emanated. Great reverence and wonder belong to this mystery.
Dismiss the posture, but retain the visualization of the Corona. Energize yourself by performing the 2nd Formula of Clavis Rei Primae (CRP).
Retain the visualization of the Corona during the following speech.

Oration 2B: "Oh Great and High ones, Eternal Triad! Enshroud us on our journey up the twisting Serpent's Path that is the inward road of Knowledge. Enshroud and protect and inspire us, we who are but humble reflections of your glory. For you are the source of all things and the point to which all things return.

3. The Lower Self
Turn deosil to face west, and perform the Calyx.

Oration 3: "Oh Foundation of Being! Breath of life, through which all life is lived and renewed! You provide the force that moves and animates. And yet you, as the yoked stallion, require the direction of a driver to properly move my chariot. I speak to you, not in command, but in respect. May you lead my chariot onward and upward along the Serpent's Path that is the inward road of Knowledge."

4. The Prince of Equity
Close your eyes. Raise your arms, palms upwards, in the form of a Tau. Imagine yourself growing vast in stature, and then visualize the Corona. Maintain this during the following oration:
Oration 4: "Oh Foundation of Being, breath of life! Chariot of manifestation, and vehicle of my soul! The Highest always seeks manifestation in the physical; the heights descend to the depths to rise again! Partner in the Great Work, receive the thanks of the Highest."
Dismiss the posture. Allow yourself to return to your normal stature, but maintain the visualization of the Corona for the CRP in the next section. Open your eyes.

5. The Oblation
Turn deosil to face east. Energize yourself with the 2nd Formula of CRP. Reaffirm and maintain your visualization of the Corona.

Oration 5: "Oh Great and High Ones, Eternal Triad, you who are the source of all things. We thank you for your participation in this, our world of Images. Through trials and tribulations, you remain, shining brightly, the One True Sun, illuminating the whole of our dark journey. In knowledge and in understanding, lift us from our fetters, so that we may know and understand that all experience and suffering but brings us closer to you."

6. The Rousing
Turn deosil and move to the eastern limit of the place of working and face west. Perform the Rousing of the Citadels (1st Formula of CRP).

7. Simulacrum
Project Nephesh material from your upper abdominal area, directing it towards the western limit of the temple. Form your Nephesh into a Simulacrum, facing towards you.

8. Exhortation

Oration 8: "Oh primal reflection of my breath and my life! I have created you here that I may look upon myself: I, the umbilical between Heaven and Earth; I, the umbilical between the world of Form and the world of Images; I, who in the name of the Eternal Triad, do deliver this exhortation. Show me my own image, undistorted, as a reflection in calm waters. For in your undistorted reflection, I will behold all that my soul has to offer."

9. Beatus
Pause to reflect for a few moments.

Oration 9: "Oh Foundation of Being, breath of life! Your participation in this rite has been as the yoked stallion, leading my chariot onward and upward along the Serpent's Path that is the inward road of Knowledge. I thank you, and in my thanks comes the acknowledgment of the Eternal Triad."

10. Orante Formula
While maintaining the visualization of the connecting “cord” and the simulacrum, energize yourself using the 2nd Formula of Clavis Rei Primae. Project the energy onto the simulacrum using the Orante Formula.

11. Simulacrum
Re-absorb the simulacrum.

12. The Rousing
Energize yourself by performing the Rousing of the Citadels (1st Formula of Clavis Rei Primae).

13. The Magician

Oration 13: "With firm resolve, I will unite, in goal and in form, with that primal reflection of my breath and my life which I have created here, and thus hasten my chariot's journey onward and upward along the Serpent's Path that is the inward road of Knowledge."

14. Gratulatio
Return to the center of the place of working, face east and perform the Calyx.
